Stocks in Germany closed lower at the end of trading on Friday, as losses were recorded in the construction, media and software sectors, which led the indices down.
At the end of trading in Frankfurt, the DAX 30 recorded a decline of 0.33%, while the MDAX index fell by 0.59% and the TecDAX technology index weakened by 0.49%.
Among the leading stocks today in the DAX 30 was Mercedes Benz Group AG (ETR:MBGn), which rose by 2.84%, or 2.06 points, to reach 74.64 at the close. On the other hand, E.ON SE (ETR:EONGn) added 1.75%, or 0.18 points, to close at 10.16, while Mtu Aero Engines Holding AG (ETR:MTXGn) increased 1.74%, or 4.00 points, to 234.00, at 234.00. As for the worst performer at the end of the day, Infineon Technologies AG (ETR: IFXGn) closed down by 2.37%, or 0.86 points, to trade at 35.24 at the close. Allianz SE (ETR:ALVG) declined 1.85% or 4.10 points to end at 216.95 and Sartorius AG Vz (ETR:SATG_p) closed down 1.61% or 7.00 points to 427.10.
On the other hand, the best performance in the MDAX index was recorded by Thyssenkrupp AG (ETR: TKAG), which rose by 2.14%, at a price of 6.98. Aixtron SE (ETR: AIXGn) also continued its rise by 1.65% and closed at 25.90 levels. Likewise, Encavis AG (ETR: ECVG) rose by 1.50% and ended its trading at a price of 18.95.
Among the stocks that underperformed today, we mention Delivery Hero AG (ETR:DHER), which fell by 3.26%, and closed its session at a price of 40.38, CTS Eventim AG (ETR:EVDG), which lost 2.74%, at a price of 63.80, and a share of Aurubis AG (ETR:NAFG), which weakened by 2.63% and closed at 95.60 in today’s session on the stock exchange.
On the other hand, the best performance in the TecDAX Technology Index was recorded by Jenoptik AG (ETR: JENGn), which rose by 2.57%, at a price of 31.92. Hensoldt Ag (ETR: HAGG) also continued its rise by 1.95% and closed at around 1.95%. 28.70, and Aixtron SE (ETR: AIXGn) rose by 1.65% and ended its trading at a price of 25.90.
Among the stocks that performed the worst today, we mention Infineon Technologies AG (ETR: IFXGn), which fell by 2.37% and closed its session at a price of 35.24, Carl Zeiss Medi (ETR: AFXG), which lost 2.31%, at a price of 133.50 and a share. Verbio Vereinigte Bioenergie AG (ETR:VBKG), which weakened by 2.25% and closed at 49.90 on the day’s exchange.
The number of declining shares exceeded the number of shares that closed higher on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange with 407 compared to 277, while 74 remained unchanged.
Shares of Mtu Aero Engines Holding AG (ETR:MTXGn) climbed to a record high in 52 weeks, adding 1.74%, or 4.00 points, to a price of 234.00. Hensoldt Ag (ETR: HAGG) stock climbed to an all-time record high, and continued to rise by 1.95%, or 0.55 points, at a price of 28.70.
DAX New Volatility, which measures the implied standard deviation of options on the DAX 30 index, traded up 5.72%, closing at 18.84.
Gold futures contracts for April delivery fell 0.01%, or 0.15%, and closed at $1,851.65 an ounce. As for the trading of other commodities, WTI crude oil futures contracts for March delivery fell 3.67%, or 2.88 points, and reached a price of $75.61 per barrel, while the April contract for Brent oil contracts decreased by 3.39%, or 2.89 points, and closed at $82.25 per barrel.
The EUR/USD pair maintained its stability by 0.20% and traded at 1.07 levels, while the EUR/GBP pair remained unchanged by 0.05% and reached 0.89 levels.
Dollar index futures traded up by 0.09% at 103.88.
